Any problem with the fuse box and light switch will affect the brake lights. In case the fuse is blown, change it with a new one. We bought a replacement at the local citroen dealer - cost £8. Pull the old one out, put the new one in. Heater blower fan now works again. Main clue to this diagnosis is that the fan was dead on all settings. If the resistor is the problem, it sounds like the fan will only work on full power - ie 4. Here is the location of the relay:
The other thing I found, is there can be an audible warning when your key battery is getting low, it is supposed to post a message on the info screen in the dash or instruments to say " Key battery low" or something similar. Oil level is good and reading OK on the dash when I turn key in ignition.
